Leviticus 19-23

These chapters of Leviticus caught my attention. There were things in the Bible that I didn't realize were there before. This is one of the reasons that I think we all need to read through the bible. We get to discover something that we didn't realize before.

Two verses that really stood out to me were Lev. 19:15 where he talks about judging people based on how much money they have. It's not just that you shouldn't pe partial to the poor but also impartial to the rich. This is not about what they are but who they are. I feel like at church, sometimes, we glorify the high giver or one that can do a lot for you. This is wrong we need to judge all of our neighbors equally and fairly. We are not who we are because of what we've done, but because of who He is.

The second verse that stood out to me is Lev. 19:33. He calls us to make sure we treat strangers (immigrants) as "native among you". In this day and age (2022) where there is much talk about immigration, I've heard Christians say some unsightly things about immigrants. It's interesting to hear the bible tell us that we need to treat them as you would one from your own land.

In the rest of the chapters I read, the Bible goes real "old testament" on how sinners should be treated - putting a lot of people to death. I am so very thankful for His grace. I think that these chapters are some that I will have to read again. There was a lot in this short amount of reading.

Second Half of Exodus

I am going to be starting to read the second half of Exodus and In the bible study that I have, they usually go over what you are about to read before you read it. I am excited to read this because it is interesting to me that this group of people just watch God perform Miracles that got them freed from slavery and are still complaining. Even crazier, when they can see God's presence right up the mountain they still get frustrated that it's taking too long and create an Idol. This should be an interesting read over the next few days.

Exodus 36 - 40

In these last few chapters of Exodus, you see the Israelites finishing building the Tabernacle. The people are bringing them so many supplies that Moses they have enough to finish and for them to stop. For me, it just shows that when God is behind what you are doing and has given you the instruction he will give you more than enough. He may be giving you resources or may be giving you the Grace to handle the situation. Just like how God hardened Pharaoh's heart he can soften yours to handle more. Regardless of what it is when God has given the call, he will provide for it.  In chapter 40 of Exodus, they talk about Moses and Aaron fulfilling the instruction that they were given. It was interesting to read that many times they wrote: "Just as the Lord Commanded". At times we get the word from God and kind of do what God asked us to do. Then when what he promised doesn't come we get confused. It's not enough just to hear to word and accept it, we need to do just as...

2 Kings 4-5

2 Kings 5 9-19 9So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and waited at the door of Elisha’s house. 10But Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message: “Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River. Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy.” 11But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me! 12Aren’t the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn’t I wash in them and be healed?” So Naaman turned and went away in a rage. 13But his officers tried to reason with him and said, “Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, ‘Go and wash and be cured!’” 14So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven tim...
