Leviticus 13 - 18

In today's reading the Bible talked more about the different scenarios that could make us unclean. I can see how women were perceived as unclean during their time of the month. They would literally have to make a sacrifice after every menstrual cycle. That's crazy. I also want to research how they kept birds captive because it seemed like they had to sacrifice a lot of them.

In the later chapters (17 - 18) Moses starts speaking to them about setting themselves apart from Egypt. I found it interesting that he had to mention to not uncover your mother's nakedness! 😳 Then I had to remember that in those days, Egypt had a lot of incest. To me it was giving them time to retrain their minds to what was right. They were stuck in that culture for about 470 years. It goes to show you that when some one comes out of a situation that they have been stuck in for a awhile, don't expect them to change and know what to do overnight. Thank goodness for His grace.

Second Half of Exodus

I am going to be starting to read the second half of Exodus and In the bible study that I have, they usually go over what you are about to read before you read it. I am excited to read this because it is interesting to me that this group of people just watch God perform Miracles that got them freed from slavery and are still complaining. Even crazier, when they can see God's presence right up the mountain they still get frustrated that it's taking too long and create an Idol. This should be an interesting read over the next few days.

Exodus 36 - 40

In these last few chapters of Exodus, you see the Israelites finishing building the Tabernacle. The people are bringing them so many supplies that Moses they have enough to finish and for them to stop. For me, it just shows that when God is behind what you are doing and has given you the instruction he will give you more than enough. He may be giving you resources or may be giving you the Grace to handle the situation. Just like how God hardened Pharaoh's heart he can soften yours to handle more. Regardless of what it is when God has given the call, he will provide for it.  In chapter 40 of Exodus, they talk about Moses and Aaron fulfilling the instruction that they were given. It was interesting to read that many times they wrote: "Just as the Lord Commanded". At times we get the word from God and kind of do what God asked us to do. Then when what he promised doesn't come we get confused. It's not enough just to hear to word and accept it, we need to do just as...

2 Kings 4-5

2 Kings 5 9-19 9So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and waited at the door of Elisha’s house. 10But Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message: “Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River. Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy.” 11But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me! 12Aren’t the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn’t I wash in them and be healed?” So Naaman turned and went away in a rage. 13But his officers tried to reason with him and said, “Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, ‘Go and wash and be cured!’” 14So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven tim...
